Here are a few of my favorite comic book covers from the past couple of weeks:
Shanghai Red #1
Cover by Joshua Hixson
Lets see… Sharks, blood red seas, a sailing vessel heading towards shore. This can mean only one thing, a dark tale of 1800’s Pacific Coast human trafficking!
Robotech #10
Cover by Hal Laren
Mr. Laren does a great job of the mech design, but my favorite part is including the view of the pilot. You usually don’t seen this when a Veritech is in Battloid mode. Or for you Macross fans, that would be a Valkyrie in Battroid mode.
Doctor Aphra #21
Cover by Ashley Witter
While at times the ambitions of archeologist-of-dubios-reputation Doctor Aphra have appeared inconsistent as written, the character herself has been a welcome addition to the Star Wars mythos. Aphra, pictured in the hologram, often finds herself unexpectedly (to herself) embroiled in situations of galaxy-wide impact she could have easily avoided with a few simple alternate choices. But much like Indiana Jones, her quest for long hidden artifacts keeps her caught in the midst of devilish schemes and power struggles.
